The European Standard EN 12934
The European Standard EN 12934 is a regulation which has been put down by the Technical Committee of the European Committee for Standardization. The experts who form this committee include i.e. representatives of the consumer organizations and exponents of trade and industry.
The EN 12934 is a product standard which is binding Europe-wide and which governs all aspects of the labelling of feathers and down as sole filling material, i.e. of bedding articles. The Standard divides fillings into seven different classes. The Kontrollgemeinschaft, however, grants the Traumpass label only to class I material for new feathers and down from waterfowl, that is from geese and ducks.
